Emma Porter
With a Bachelor of Fine Arts I returned to learning after the obligatory year living in London and working (obviously) as a chef. I attended Billy Blue School of Graphic Arts and then moved to Melbourne to complete a Bachelor of Communication Design at Swinburne University.
While at Swinburne, I applied for an internship at Pentagram and was accepted for a three month tenure under the guidance of Michael Beirut. Loving the energy and hard work that was the daily life working at Pentagram I was offered a position on Paula Scher’s team and ended staying for another year and nine months. Working on iconic brands Coca Cola and Citibank also wonderful projects closer to Paula’s heart such as Friends of the Highline and exhibition catalogues for her Map paintings.
Thinkso Creative is an agency run by ex-Pentagrammer Brett Traylor where I worked for several years.

As you can see from the process work in my portfolio I love to leverage my roots as a visual artist to bring a sense of materiality to my work.
I acknowledge the custodians of the land where I create my work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation and their Elders past and present.
I acknowledge and respect their continuing culture and the contribution they make to the creative life of this city and this region.
